Changes to the EU Privacy and Electronic Communications Directive
Changes to Directive 2002/58/EC became effective from the 26th May 2011. These changes include a requirement to obtain consent for cookies and notification of any personal data breaches where that personal data is processed in connection with the provision of a public electronic communciations system.
These changes do not affect the Isle of Man Unsolicited Communications Regulations as drafted and there is currently no intention to amend the Regulations at present.
